AWAKE

Sleep is elusive,

Reach hard as I may,

Seems to be beyond my grasps,

Restless, foreboding.

Though my eyes I close,

Dream I cannot,

For my brain is convulsed,

My mind in disarray.

Tired of the days past,

Still I lay awake,

But sleep I must,

For tomorrow I rise again.
